Dryslwyn Castle
With the Twyi river meandering below, the mainly 13th century castle offers splendid views. The castle is unusual as there are traces of a surrounding medieval village. The castle was the seat of Welsh Princes and witnessed battles as it frequently changed hands with the English Crown.
Carreg Cennan Castle
One of the most picturesque and remote castles in Wales. The castle is perched high above a rocky limestone crag on the border of The Brecon Beacons. It may be a good idea to bring a torch as there is an underground cave that runs underneath the castle and is worth exploring.
Garn Coch Hillfort
Huge Prehistoric fort in a remote but beautiful spot in the Western Brecon Beacons.
Topped by Neolithic or Bronze Age burial mounds the hill fort is one of the largest in Wales and must have been an important and impressive site when the huge dry stone walls that surround it were first constructed.
